ASI  was contracted to design and manufacture the training platform for the development of maintenance skills for CH-47 maintainers. The trainer is utilized to train system familiarization, component identification, servicing skills and inspections, Maintenance Operational Checks (MOCs) and Remove/Install (R/I) tasks in support of the U.S. CH-47 AVUM (unit level maintenance). As such, the CHMT provides realistic, high fidelity and safe training for ground maintenance operations and procedures. 

The CHMT is designed to serve as the primary selected training media used by the U.S. Army Aviation Logistics School (USAALS) instructors to strengthen maintenance personnel's skills and knowledge. 

The CHMT consists of a Hardware Training Device (HTD) with a Mobile Power Supply Unit (MPSU), an Instructor/Operator Station (IOS) and an Air Conditioning Unit (as required). ASI worked with LSI for development of compatible Trainer System Software and IOS Software. The HTD is representative of a typical CH-47 aircraft, incorporating the same systems as an actual CH-47 with electrical and hydraulic power through the MPSU. The HTD was populated with components that meet identified physical and functional fidelities. The IOS enables the instructor to monitor and control the training scenario, observe and evaluate student performance and check system status.
